I dont' know if this board gets a different community than RELE, but I have a question.

I went to one of those "listen to my seminar, get a free dinner" things two nights ago, and the guy did about 90 minutes on various stuff.

The thread started on an article on "Retirement Investing" (how quaint!)

Around halfway through I gave a little review of the dinner/seminar:

Whereupon we got into a little discussion of index-linked CD's and variable annuities, and for argument's sake I took the "pro" side.

If anyone wants to join in and demolish the argument, I'd be appreciative, otherwise my wife is going to make me buy some of it ;)
