I have a question for any self employed contractors out there, or for anyone who lives in the san Francisco area.

I was asked to set a per diem rate to do a 6-8 month contract in SF, but I have no idea what is reasonable for expenses. I know what is reasonable to do the work, but I have been adding up flights back to Canada (I thought every other week), executive flat, and food and I have come up with a number that seems ridiculous.

I want to cover all expenses that I would incur, but I don't want to price myself out of a potentially cool job.

Here's what I have so far
Lodgings $4,000.
Food $60 per day
Travel $900 x 2 per month.

What do you guys think? I'd hate to look like a twerp...
