Yeah, what fool would want freedom, choice and competition in health care when you can have a "single payer" system like the NHS??!!

There is freedom, choice and competition also in the UK in the private sector if you can afford it. Sadly the not everyone can. The NHS provides basic and good health care. It is true about the queues unless there is an emergency. You can't generalise from some unfortunate incidents like the Stafford Hospital scandal.

£200 per annum is far less than cost of health insurance in the US per month! Do people have the freedom to choose such a cheap option in the US?
