Yes, I keep it in the frige and "feed it" monthly. If I haven't used it for a while I will get it out of the fridge, replace half of it with an equal amount of flour & water and leave it out on the counter for 24 hours. That gives it a good kick start. Then repalce half again so after a couple of days it is really bubling and has a good aroma.

Great for bread, pancakes, etc.
