Yes, I watched that start to finish.

Bernie Sanders is a fraud! At virtually every rally I've heard him shout into the microphone, he has vilified and demonized "millionaires", as "criminals" as though earning wealth is synonymous with theft and exploitation of the innocent.....where the innocent are defined largely as recent college grads with large student loans and low paying jobs. He has blasted the top 1% as ravagers of our nation's wealth who give little but only take.

But now that his own tax returns are out, we see AGIs of over $1,000,000 for 2016 and 2017, and $561,293 for 2018, putting his household in the top 1% of earners in the US. When challenged on this, his reply was

“I wrote a best-selling book,” he said. “If you write a best-selling book, you can be a millionaire, too.”

But couldn't anyone with an Adjusted Gross of >$1,000,000 say exactly the same thing in relation to what they do? Does book revenue deserve some spot on the morality scale higher than revenue from, say, selling smart phones, managing a pension fund or playing quarterback for the New England Patriots?

Sanders should be applauded for releasing 10 years of his 1040s. Had these returns shown extremely large donations to charitable causes or had he made large percent contributions of his annual incomes to the US Government to be used towards reduction of the national debt, then his railings would have meaning and would demand our respect. But he didn't and clearly has no intention of making such magnanimous use of his new found wealth. And you can bet that his tax returns, like yours and mine, worked to minimize tax within the limits allowed.

In short, this man is a common, simple garden variety, run-of-the-mill liberal fraud.
