Remember the promise of no more earmarks?
With the worst recession (depression) in history and a 14 trillion dollar debt now looming, with no end in sight......
You would think the lib dems would cut out some of the pork....
This is the defense bill.........repeat...defense....defense...and what do we have?

"In all, Congress added in 1,720 pet projects, including:
·$5 million for a visitors center in San Francisco
·$23 million for indigent health care in Hawaii
·$18 million for the Edward Kennedy Policy Institute in Massachusetts
·$1.6 million to computerize hospital records in Oakland
·$47 million for anti-drug training centers around the country
·$20 million for the World War II Museum in Louisiana
·$3.9 million grant to develop an energy-efficient solar film for buildings
·$800,000 for minority prostate cancer research
·$3.6 million for marijuana eradication in Kentucky
·$2.4 million for handicap access and a sprinkler system at a community club in New York
Lawmakers also added $5 billion for two destroyers, 10 C-17 cargo planes and to develop a jet engine the Pentagon neither wants nor needs. Critics call it classic pork -- projects that may save jobs, but not money.
Wow..vistor center...prostate cancer research as part of 'defense'?.....WW2 Museum? Kennedy Policy Center ? (and you know what type of policy that will be.....and promote)....
Ya gotta be kidding.
And the President will sign this turkey? or did?
Worst President in history.....over 1700 pork earmarks...
Vote the bastards out next Nov...as many as we can...YES WE CAN....
"Senator Mary Landrieu, D-La., says she was "proud" to secure $20 million for a new wing of the National World War II museum in her home state."
More buy off for her vote for health care...which her folks don't want, and can't afford.....but, heck...pork is pork.....oink, oink...
YES WE CAN....Vote the bastards out...

(AP) President Barack Obama took on both the defense establishment and freespending lawmakers on Monday, saying they were draining the defense budget with "exotic projects."
"If Congress sends me a defense bill loaded with a bunch of pork, I will veto it," he declared in a speech to the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

This speech was in August.

We'd best outvote 'em by 15 to 20 percentage points. Acorn, the New Black Panthers, the SEIU et al will be putting on the full court press in committing voter fraud. The MSM will do their best to cover up the certain voter fraud. The dead will be voting in numbers never seen in any previous American "election" <g> Absentee ballots will be turning up by the car trunk load if any election is close.

I's going to start with an agreement that Obama promised to remove the pork, and he should remove the pork - Period.
From your link;
Just last week, Obama broke his promise as he signed into law the 2010 Defense Appropriations Bill -- a $636 billion behemoth loaded with $4.2 billion of pork.
So Obama's the worst president because of $4.2 billion in pork? No worries about last year's $19.6 billion in pork, or the $17.2 billion in 2008 under a Dem congress? How about the $29 billion in 2006, or the $27.3 billion in 2005, or the $22.9 billion in 2004, or the $22.5 billion in 2003, or the $20.1 billion in 2002 - all with a GOP congress and president?
At least there's some improvement.
