You accept as plausible that 90% of the universe is made up of something dark that humans cannot sense...

No, something that we have not yet determined. I have no doubt that if we look at it in the correct way we can detect it. In fact, they're finding more of it all the time.

...and that in complete vacuums matter and energy spontaneously appear and disappear.

Setting aside the sloppy terminology (define "complete vacuum"), the math predicts it and we have now observed it (e.g. Hawking radiation). So of course.

Yet the notion that the conscious mind can make decisions is somehow "spiritual". Weird.

Obviously. If the conscious mind can act independently of all the preconditions that put it, and the universe, into the state they are in immediately prior to that "decision", then clearly the "will" is something outside the universe. Which would be very weird indeed. Otherwise, the decision was dictated by the conditions that existed immediately prior to the "decision".

Perhaps not spiritual, but certainly ideological. But if you believe consciousness can arise de novo from only complexity, well that is pretty close to magic.

Nothing ideological. Just following the physics to its logical conclusion. I don't regard physics as "ideological", but perhaps some do.

Lots of things are emergent properties from complexity. Why not consciousness? Given the enormous complexity of the brain that isn't at all surprising. In fact, it would be surprising if something as complex as the brain didn't have some emergent properties.
