Prudential is lowering earnings estimates on Apple Computer to a first quarter loss per share of 36 cents from a loss of 24 cents. For 2002, Prudential is forecasting earnings per share of 61 cents from 84 cents.

BN AMRO said on Wednesday that it had lowered its price target on Apple Computer Inc. (AAPL.O) to $20 from $25, one day after the computer maker said it was ready to launch the new version of its OS X operating system this weekend.

Apple's fiscal 2002 earnings per share forecast was cut to

And then there's:
Saudi billionaire Prince Alwaleed bin Talal said he is confident that the U.S. economy can withstand "jitters." Talal is one of the world's richest men, with a fortune valued at $20 billion as of May. "The American economy is solid and I am not selling anything. I will not sell any of my shares in any company,' the prince said in a statement to Reuters. He then added, "Years ago, when I placed my confidence and hence my investment dollars in the U.S. stock market, I did not act emotionally." But watching CNBC is one of Talal's passions--it's hard to imagine that pastime isn't upsetting the high-energy investor's stomach a little. U.S. investments in his Kingdom Holding include: $9.65 billion in Citigroup , $1.1 billion in News Corp , $932 million in AOL Time Warner , $534 million in Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts , $314 million in Apple Computer and $300 million in Compaq Computer .

Takin my advice from one of the 15 richest men in the world

Prince Alwaleed bin Talal has been invested in AAPL for some time and took a big hit as many on this board last year. Unfortunately most here are not multi-billionaires whose circumstances are quite different. It may take us a bit more time to recover.:-)

Investing in Apple now (or a choice of many stocks now) appear to be a no-brainer at current prices vs. last year price and decline.

IMO when it comes to investing, take advice from no one...follow the markets, take the time to do your own study, set your goal and very importantly discipline yourself when to sell.

What good is LTBH if you lose your gains as many did last year?

Having said that remember what I said, "take advice from no one". ;-)

Really Blue? Steve will certainly appreciate that as he is sooo busy and I'll be a different person I'm sure.

My other half will surely be pleased when I invite strangers in to see it. In fact I already invite strangers in. We're that kind of people you know.

Someones had to do it Blue! Lodi has so much going for it but Mac users. With help we can surely change that. I go to the local newspaper just to see all their iMacs. Sure do look nice seeing all those pretty iMacs and they have G3's too.
