You have the New Perspective fund from American funds. I have held this fund for several years, and it has done well, even showing a profit in 1994, when most didn't. If I were starting new, I wouldn't buy this one because of the front end load, but it has been satisfactory. This fund has a large off-shore part of its portfolio, and it is relatively uncorrelated with the S&P 500. Morningstar rates it high, and I think it is an above average performer. Morningstar has a hard time to place this fund because it doesn't fit any of their niches, so they call if a "hybrid" (Same with most of the other American funds.) It has beaten the S&P 500 for some periods, but usually doesn't.
