You may have as many IRA and Roth IRA's as you like. There is not limit. However, your total contribution to all of them (excluding transfers and rollovers from other qualified accounts such as pension funds and 401K's) is $2K.

Although you may have many IRA's, there are usually costs associated with each. For that reason, it would be best to minimize the number. If you choose a versatile account, there is no reason you cannot pursue multiple strategies within the same account.
