Your local bank likely DOES go through and look for customers with 'high cash balance'. ....

I keep an emergency fund at a local bank......every now and then when I went in to add or take out some money.....the teller would 'suggest' that the bank had 'better paying' investments...and they were ready to help me 'select' something 'better'. I said no thanks to their high load, high fee funds.

Yes, your bank does have an interest in persuading you to 'consider' other investments.

Just tell them to not bother you again.
