You're right, not many people read anymore. Since most of us first read LOTR in our teens, the movie could get millions of kids to actually switch off the MTV and read a book for a change, if they like the movie.

Or at least the novelisation. That must rank as one of the most depressing thoughts I've ever had...

I hope they do make a good job of the movie and bring a new audience to the real thing.
